Atlanta Workshop Players
Stars are born at Atlanta Workshop Players. Just ask singer-actress Mandy Moore, Oxygen
Network’s head of development, Amy Dean Kennedy, or American Idol songbird and Broadway star Diana D’Garmo—all of whom spent time learning and performing here. Artistic Director Lynn Stallings opened the nonprofit children’s theater company in 1981. “Our motto is ‘Kids Changing the World, One Audience at a Time,” Lynn says, adding that the
studio is committed to “using art to invoke social change and to teach character education.” To do so, the theater offers a year-round theater school, in addition to performing arts camps and a professional touring company. The atmosphere at Atlanta Workshop Players is nurturing and non-competitive, with expert teachers from the fields of theater, film and television sharing their expertise. Even the shyest student can blossom into an expressive performer in such a nurturing environment. Over the course of more than two decades, the studio has produced and toured with more than 25 original musicals and offered hundreds of scholarships to children in need. Come to Atlanta Workshop Players, where your child can learn the skills to be a star.
