Shadowbrook Farm
Shadowbrook Farm offers horse-lovers a triple crown of beautifully bred animals for sale,
impeccable boarding facilities and educational opportunities for both horses and people. The
farm has been a Libertyville landmark since it was built in the mid-1930s by the Rossiter family. It was sold to the Huthsings in the 1950s, who bred thoroughbreds at the facility. Tom Foran took over in the 1970s. In 1986, Tim and Moppy Towne purchased the farm and continued the tradition of breeding hunters and jumpers. Boarders and their animals are treated like family. The barn and stalls are heated for maximum comfort for both man and beast. Work your horse in the 189 by 81 square-foot arena or enjoy the outdoors in an arena measuring 100 by 200 square feet. Enjoy the half-mile track and the nearby trails. Located on 40 acres, Shadowbrook Farm offers plenty of natural beauty for you to observe as you ride. At Celebration Farm, located on the premises, the Townes’ daughter, Amy Farmer, offers riding lessons for folks aged 5 and up. Riders can also learn how to bathe horses and even watch them being shod. Amy has shown on the A circuit for more than 20 years, so it’s natural that the farm offers training for horses, preparing them for shows nationwide. Shadowbrook Farm offers a fun, safe environment for people and horses looking to excel in the ring—or just spend an afternoon
riding the trails.
